As seen on the "Biggest Loser" and "Celebrity Fit Club", this is the most accurate body fat test available. You go completely underwater for 7 seconds that is chlorinated and highly filtered. The test lasts 10 minutes. You receive a full report of your body composition. The data also supports an accurate achievable goal. You understand your unique resting metabolic rate based on lean muscle mass.
There is also "DEXA" bone density screening. This is a non-invasive, painless and accurate test to measure the density of your bones. Bones density peaks between 25 and 30 years of age, so it is prudent to have a bone scan done early to establish a baseline.

If you are staying on top of fitness trends like the trainers at Prime Fitness, you know that "barre workouts" are up-to-the-minute in fitness these days. While all barre workouts differ slightly in structure, most will incorporate exercises that are done at a ballet barre combined with several elements of ballet, Pilates, and yoga. Barre exercises rely mainly upon one's own bodyweight for resistance, and the moves will challenge your core stability and balance. Barre workouts are designed to help an individual achieve a “dancer’s body” — strong, sleek, and toned.
One reason that barre classes are becoming so popular is that they provide results. With consistency, participants will physically see their bodies become slimmer and more toned. Although some barre workouts will have cardio elements, it is not designed to elevate your heart rate—they are specifically designed for muscle toning.
When you step into a barre studio you will typically find that the classroom is a large open space with mirrors and barres fixed to the wall surrounding the room. Some studios have bamboo or wood flooring while others have carpet. Like yoga and Pilates classes, you generally won't wear shoes or socks during a barre workout, but some people like to wear special "grippy" socks. Some props may be incorporated such as a ball, light hand weights, stretch bands, and/or yoga straps. Our classes run between 45mins and 60mins long.
At Prime Fitness, barre classes are multi-level and are appropriate for a variety of fitness levels and body sizes. Each exercise can be modified for ones personal level. Our instructors will provide the modifications needed for beginners, as well as for advanced progressions. There is no prior dance experience required to benefit from a barre program.
Our fitness center is offering a Barre class unlike any other. We have added our barre to the HOT YOGA studio and the classes will be in temps from 95 to 100 degrees F. Practicing barre class in a heated room increases your pulse rate and metabolism, allowing your blood vessels to become more flexible and making your body burn extra calories. It will build muscle tone and also improve the lymphatic system and flush out toxins.
